I was able to arise this mornng 30 mnutes earlier (5:15 am) than normal. I wasn’t quite sure where I was going to start. Should I start in prayer, or should I start in thoe Word. Praise the Lord, I decided to quickly open the Word (ok, in my case, turn it on), and then God revealed how wonderful He is. He was thinking of that specific moment in my life during Pastor Terry’s message yesterday. My bible turned on to the last scripture section that we read. Here it is:
1 Corinthians 6:12
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
How appropriate, no, perfect, for this time in my life. God nows just what I need when i need it. Obviously better than I know myself. This passage goes on to talk about how I am a member of the Body of Christ and how this body is the temple of His Holy Spirit. The first part convicts me, as it did Paul, that I do not have a right to cut off, destroy, or harm a member of His body, and in fact, I have an obligation to care for it. The second part of that, blows me away completely, this body is a temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell! Amazing, an actual part of the Trinity is meant to dwell with me. This body (fearfully and wonderfully made), ws designed as a temple in which the Holy Spirit can dwell.
I want the full measure of His dwelling. As we walk through life we pick up junk to fill the space reserved for the Holy Spirit, often so much so that our temple becomes cluttered. Lord, help me remove all the rubbish from this temple, cleanse my temple, restore a pure heart, that I may be a holy temple, set apart for your Holy Spirit to dwell.
In Jesus Name,
